Is Neal Boortz Stupid, or Evil?

Talk radio blowhard Neal Boortz has sunk to a new low, mirroring the sinking ocean floor. But his “logic” reveals much about global warming skeptics in the right wing spin machine.

Boortz’s web site leads today with a Reuters story about a study based on computer models that say sea levels are dropping and have been for 80 million years. Here’s a quote from the journal Science as reported by Reuters:

Sea levels are set to fall over millions of years, making the current rise blamed on climate change a brief interruption of an ancient geological trend, scientists said on Thursday.

Later the Reuters article puts that prediction on falling sea levels into perspective:

Still, the projected rate of fall works out at 0.015 centimeters a century — irrelevant when the U.N. Climate Panel estimates that seas will rise by 18-59 cms by 2100 because of global warming stoked by human use of fossil fuels.

“Compared to what is expected due to climate change, the fall is negligible,” said Steinberger. Cities from Miami to Shanghai are threatened by rising seas that could also swamp low-lying island nations in the Pacific.

In other words, the liklihood of sea levels rising due to human activities (literally) swamps the imperceptible drops predicted in the Science article.

Now here’s how Boortz reports on the issue:

A new report in the journal Science concludes that sea levels are going to fall over millions of year (sic). This makes the current rise in sea levels (blamed on global warming) a “brief interruption” of an ancient geological trend. In the big picture – which global warmers can’t seem to grasp – the oceans are getting deeper.

Okay, Neal. If sea levels drop 120 meters over the next 80 million years, as the study predicts, we don’t have to worry about rises of half a meter in the next century. Do the math: a drop of .00015 meters versus a rise of .5 meters over the next century. Instead of sea levels rising .5 meters, the’ll only rise .49985 meters!

Those people living on low-lying islands in the Pacific just have to wait a few million years, and their homes will be back on dry land. Lovely.

“Big picture?” Boortz either has no clue about the big picture, or he’d take any chance, however asinine, to trash global climate change theory.

Besides, Neal, if computer models can’t be trusted to predict climate in the near term, as you’ve said repeatedly, why are you so uncritical in buying what they say about ocean levels over a span of 160 million years?

Boortz couldn’t care less about the potential consequences of global climate change. The issue is nothing but a political football in his mind.

I’d call that just plain evil.

By the way, it’s 10:30 am, and as I write, Boortz is replaying audio of a 9-year-old boy and ridiculing the way the child speaks. I can’t make this up…Boortz is ridiculing a 9-year-old boy on a national radio program (Boortz: “He sounds as dumb as a stump.”) He’s nine years old, Neal.

Why don’t you go back to trashing 13-year-old girls?

    Weather is cyclical, dummies.

And that 10 year old kid needs help right now…before it’s too late.

  2. Bill Says:

Shouldn’t you be hugging a tree somewhere? If people heard that 10 year old boy they’d realize that he’s borderline retarded. Get real.

  3. Jason Says:

Wow… all I needed to realize that you are less than honest is to read that you disagree with Boortz about that kid. Call a spade a spade. Don’t be P.C. for the sake of being P.C.! All Boortz is saying is that that kid would have a problem getting a decent job when his older. Why? For the same reason as companies don’t use death metal as hold music… Your average customer or client just doesn’t want to hear it! Fact.

I was hanging out with an African guy in Kenya last month who couldn’t understand why African Americans get upset that statistically black people have lower IQ’s than white people. His opinion was that if that is the truth then why is it a problem to state it? It doesn’t mean he isn’t a smart guy!

You know that crazy thing is peoples blood will probably start boiling when they read my previous paragraph. Why? What is it about people that makes them mad that people are genetically different? I’m a white guy, but I’m not mad that black people are statistically better at sport than my race… But there are white guys that are pissed that sports are dominated by African Americans in the U.S. So black or white, both races share the fact that people get pissed about their talents, (or lack thereof).

Why is it that these same people will call me a racist for writing all this, when I’m clearly not? I have a clear level head about the issue of race. The fact that they get all upset shows that they are the ones that over think race and not just judge people on their individual merits.

  4. prestoncoleman Says:

Jason, nobody’s called you a racist except for…YOU! It sounds like you’re arguing with yourself about your own racism. Pathetic.

Bill, try reading what I actually say about climate change before you assume I’m a “treehugger.” The link is in the same article you’re responding to. Ditto to you, Laughing. Of course weather is cyclical; that in no way refutes what I wrote.

The math is unassailable—Boortz is dead wrong. It’ll be a cold day in hell before he admits it. (I don’t think climate change affects hell.)

  5. Jason Says:

HAHAH! What did I tell you? I went to all that trouble to try to explain why people should honest without being branded a racist for my example and what’s the first sentence prestoncoleman writes? One accusing me of being a racist. You’ve got to love how dumb people can be!

  6. prestoncoleman Says:

The sentence I wrote says, “Jason, nobody’s called you a racist except for…YOU!”

    Have a nice day.

  7. Jason Says:

    Sorry… Second sentence… My mistake!

  8. Jason Says:

Look, just do me a favor… If you are going to blog, be honest! Don’t be P.C.! Sure the truth hurts, but ultimately you will reach more people by being honest…

Have a great day and lets all keep our fingers crossed that the planet doesn’t go to hell due to climate change!!!

A redneck was stopped by a game warden in Central
Mississippi recently with two ice chests full of fish.
He was leavin’ a cove well-known for its fishing.

The game warden asked the man, “Do you have a license
to catch those fish?” “Naw, sir”, replied the redneck.
“I ain’t got none of them there licenses. You must
understand, these here are my pet fish.”

    “Pet fish?”

“Yeah. Every night, I take these here fish down to the
lake and let ‘em swim ’round for awhile. Then, when I
whistle, they jump right back into these here ice
chests and I take ‘em home.”

“That’s a bunch of hooey! Fish can’t do that.”

The redneck looked at the warden for a moment and then
said, “It’s the truth Mr. Government Man. I’ll show
    ya. It really works.”

“O. K.”, said the warden. “I’ve got to see this!”

The redneck poured the fish into the lake and stood
    and waited.

After several minutes, the warden says, “Well?”

    “Well, what?”, says the redneck.

The warden says, “When are you going to call them
    back?”

    “Call who back?”

    “The FISH”, replied the warden!

    “What fish?”, replied the redneck.

Moral of the story: We may not be as smart as some
city slickers, but we ain’t as dumb as some government
    employees.

You can say what you want about the South, but you
never hear of anyone retiring and moving north. !!!!

Also, it doesn’t matter whether the ocean rises or fall one inch of the next N years. People adjust! I was sitting on the beach one afternoon letting the waves hit my feet. As time passed, the tide slowly rose. As it did, I inched back in response. I didn’t sit there and cry for Al Gore to do something. The same applies to a house over many decades. As the ocean recedes, people build out because they want to be close to the water’s edge. As the ocean advances, the buildings get torn down (not people, they don’t die), and the homes behind them become the water’s edge.

Respectable people adjust! Markets adjust! We evolve!

It’s amazing how much more conservative the liberals are than the conservatives. Liberals hate change, unless of course it’s them who are causing the changes. That’s why their political motto is TAKE AMERICA BACK, instead of taking America forward. That’s why they are against all progress, like building new homes in forests, drilling in ANWR, erecting dams and nuclear power plants, and why they promote carbon offsets, etc. They preach evolution, but when it’s nature evolving faster than the humped back whales or the spotted owl, then they cry “somebody do something, but not me that is because I’m a liberal and I hate doing anything. Verbs are for other people. Production is for other people.”

They are never concerned with what people do. “Do” is a verb, and liberals hate verbs. Instead, they concentrate on what people “say” and what they “are” – never on what people “do”. They are enamored with Obama – the epitome of a man who IS black and SAYS things but DOES nothing. They are against doing things. Such tasks are for the serfs – not them, the elite, privileged, self-anointed priests and rulers of the world. That’s why they like illegal immigration. They fought to keep slavery in the 1860’s. They fought for The New Deal and the welfare state, which is really just a return to a disguised form of medieval feudalism.

Liberals are, by direct observation, extreme conservatives.

    Here’s a couple bumper stickers:

DEMOCRAT: Did you hear what that republican said?!
REPUBLICAN: Did you see what that democrat did?!

    THANK GOD FOR TERM LIMITS!

I WOULDN’T VOTE FOR ANYONE THAT WOULD RUN

    RUN HILLARY RUN.
Democrats put it on the back bumper; republicans put it on the front.

  12. Brian Says:

your wrong preston…give it up..your trying to make publicity for yourself…your making a big deal out of nothing and some hurt feelings because your a little professor no one knows about. you have probably been listening to boortz waiting on him to say something offensive so you can cry about it. get a life and get real. honestly you act like a 13 year old girl complaining on the enternet for Christ sake.

  13. Fred Says:

Why would anyone ever believe what Boortz has to say about anything?
Contrary to what Boortz claims, he flunked out or quit college in May of ‘67 never graduating! That’s right all he has is a high school diploma!
